Map Quest

Perhaps an homage to yesteryear, road trips are making a huge comeback! People everywhere are hitting the graveled ground to see both the famous and less-celebrated sights of our country.

This past week while doing a psychic intuitive session for a client, I picked up that a road trip was in the works for her. She nodded and added that she and her husband had just bought a used travel trailer. Furthermore, my spiritual insights were telling me that she’d have the opportunity to visit several sacred places during her journey.

Sharing this with her, I recalled a book, Sacred Places North America, that I’d purchased several years ago. Here are a few of those memorable locales in the publication that I’ve had the opportunity to visit.

Devil’s Tower, Wyoming – A spiritually bestowed vision quest for Native Americans since pre-historic times, Devil’s Tower is a stark, stand-alone stone shaft that towers 867 vertical feet from its base to the top. Located in northeastern Wyoming, this National Monument not only has tribal connections, but received cinematic recognition when director Steven Spielberg filmed key scenes of his classic “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” at the site.

Big Sur, California – What many would argue is the most captivating coastal drive on the west coast, Big Sur stretches 90 miles along North Central California. While there are jaw-dropping views from ocean cliffs, the majestic redwood forests offer a deep-rooted bond with Mother Earth. Each year, thousands venture to this sacred place to be healed, inspired and spiritually enlightened.

Badlands, South Dakota – With its jagged peaks and parched canyons, this National Park’s desert-like setting almost seems misplaced in the Central Plains. Native American tribes have a profound bond here, as many cite the location’s harsh and eroding landscape as an enabler to find spiritual clarity and direction. Today, it remains a destination for those seeking inner peace and harmony.

Are you ready to map out your own road trip to sacred places?

Love and light,

Thanks for sharing, Tony. Very interesting. I once visited Big Sur and was awe struck! I would love to see the other two.

Crow Heart Butte is in Wyoming. When driving by the Butte one year, I was overwhelmed with so many feelings. It was a memorable experience that I will never forget. There was once an epic battle on top of the Butte, and I felt the violence, the agony and an incredible sense of loss.
