Step Back In Time

Ruins, reminders of buildings or landmarks from an earlier time, are scattered in all parts of the world, from the Coliseum in Rome to, well, the Hot Springs Resort in Montecito, California. Recently, a friend and I were talking about the mystique and history of the legendary resort, whose remains are only a few miles from where I reside.

Its history, we discovered, was fascinating: During the 1870s, a three-story hotel with dining room was built for guests who traveled up the steep mountain path to partake in the property’s healing waters. The Chumash Indians believed the springs had curative powers and used the water for a number of purposes. Over the years, wildfires destroyed the hotel, which was then rebuilt. The last straw, however, was a blaze in 1964 that consumed the complex, leaving only a flight of stone steps and entrance wall as the only physical connections to a bygone era.

Spiritually, I thought, there might be more to be revealed. Naturally, a hike up the Montecito canyon to what’s left of the resort was in order for this psychic medium. Once there, I sat and meditated atop one of the stone walls, still in tact after all these decades.

Intuitively, I was shown, in my third eye, people from years ago traveling up the same canyon that I’d just ascended. Some walked, while others arrived on horseback or via wagons. I was even shown a wagon that delivered slabs of stone for masons to craft. These intuitive images represented many people. I was interested in knowing if one spirit might want to come forth and communicate directly with me.

Moments later during my continued meditation, a Native American, dark skinned woman appeared with a smile, as if she was eager to share her story. Short in stature, the lady showed how she used a loom to weave. Additionally, she was also a cook on the premises, as she demonstrated how she kneaded dough for perhaps tortillas or loaves of bread. I felt a bond not only with this kind woman, but with the ruins and their spiritual energy.

Remains of once standing buildings may only be a skeletal representation, but they can still have a spiritual presence to shed enlightenment.

Love and light,

Tony
