Joan Rivers once said, “Life is very tough. If you don’t laugh, it’s tough.” Many of us, including some of my psychic consultation clients, cling to our troubles instead of allowing life’s brighter moments to shine. Any negative vibe can shift, and sometimes, it can start with a nudge to the funny bone.
As a salute to the late, trailblazing comedian and the importance of humor in our lives, here are five of Lady Joan’s zingers:
I was born in 1962…and the room next to me was 1963.
You want to get Cindy Crawford confused? As her so spell ‘mom’ backwards!
You can find my book at your favorite bookstore, and if it isn’t there, find a new favorite.
I wish I had a twin so I could know what I’d look like without plastic surgery!
My daughter and I are very close. We speak every single day and I call her every day and I say the same thing, “Pick up! I know you’re there!” And, she says the same thing back, “How’d you get this number?!”
At one point in her career, Joan coined the phrase, “Can we talk?”, as a setup for her witty – and, often, outrageous – remarks. When life is a little outrageous and frigid, a joke can help to bring on a thaw.
Love and light (and laughter),
Tony
She will be greatly missed …..I’d love to have seen her and Rodney Dangerfield do an improv duo !!!
Wow! Now, that would have been an incredible duo! I saw her several times solo and she was non-stop funny.
Sweet tribute Tony! She will be missed. So sad that she and Robin Williams are now gone. The laughter they brought to us and left for us is surely medicine for the soul.
You are so right. It’s hard to say goodbye to comedy legends Robin Williams and Joan Rivers. They knew comedy. And, gave it all their energy, making us laugh (a lot) along the way.
She will certainly leave a void. I live by my belief that laughter is fabulous and inexpensive therapy! 🙂
Hey Kaye – we certainly know the value of good laugh…or two..or three 🙂
